Summer 2023 updates
It’s been a hot summer and I haven’t gotten around to posting any updates, so just to catch you up…. I was awarded a prize at the 93rd Annual San Antonio Art League Museum Show (April 2 – June 3, 2023)! I quickly squandered all my prize money celebrating with oldest son John and his BF in Austin on the way home. Shout out to…
Art Room Small Works Show, Friday Nov. 4, 2022
I love Small Works shows (and enter them whenever I can). The holiday season will usually see a number of them and it’s a great time to pick up some little – usually very affordable – pieces. If you’ve been following me on Facebook or Instagram, you’ve seen lots of my cat-related art. Now’s your chance to add one to your collection! I’ve got three…
Fall 2022 art happenings
I’m in a few more shows this fall – very exciting! Fort Worth Biennial 2022 at Arts Fort Worth The outbreak of Covid put the kibosh on the previous Biennial. Of the three pieces I entered for this year’s Fort Worth Biennial, I was especially happy the juror, Lilia Kudili, chose “Programming Man.” It’s a big painting and has almost everyone of my favorite things…
Summer of Art – 2022
After a busy spring (shows in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Granbury), summer 2022 is heating up as well (sorry – couldn’t resist). “Recountable” at Bath House Cultural Center in Dallas This spring I was included in a juried show at Bath House Cultural Center as part of the ART214 Juried Exhibition. Enrique Fernández Cervantes, Visual Arts Coordinator / Curator at the BHCC contacted me after…
2.62 Persons: A House; A Home; A Statistic; A Family
I’ve been fortunate enough to get into several shows this spring, including two in Dallas as part of the ART214 exhibits, and two in the Rio Brazos show in Granbury, sponsored by Tarleton State University. Closer to home, Texas Artists Coalition’s upcoming exhibit, 2.62 Persons: A House; A Home; A Statistic; A Family will include three of my paintings. To say I was shocked all…
ART214 in Dallas
I was surprised and pleased to be notified I got *two* pieces accepted in this year’s ART214 Juried Exhibition, sponsored by the Dallas Office of Arts And Culture. ART214 is part of Dallas Arts Month, a city-wide celebration of Dallas arts. “Puzzle,” which has been exhibited in Fort Worth a couple of times, will be on exhibit at the Bath House Cultural Center, at 521…
Looking back at 2019
2019 was pretty much a breakout year for me in several ways. For starters, a new website (https://www.rontaylorcrouch.com), urged on me by my millenial sons, who told me pointblank, “Nobody knows or cares who ‘Ralph Art’ is – use your real name.” They also said I talked too much on the Ralphart.com website. “Just show your art and don’t ramble on.” So if you want…
Upcoming show – Solo Show[Down] 2019 at FWCAC
I’m excited to announce I’m in several shows this summer at the Fort Worth Community Art Center. I’ll be showing 2 works on paper during Solo Show[Down] 2019, juried by Christina Rees, Editor-in-Chief of Glasstire, the online Texas art magazine. One of the pieces is one of my favorite cat paintings ever. The show runs from July 5 – July 24, 2019, with an opening…
Fifth Annual Artspace 111 Regional Juried Exhibition – see it (and me) now!
I spaced out posting this earlier, but the Fifth Annual Artspace 111 Regional Juried Exhibition (boy that’s a mouthful) is up, and I’m in it again this year. But you’d best hurry – this is the last week it’ll be up; show closes after July 28! As always it’s a fascinating show, full of good work. I’ve got pretty good placement this year – my…
New show: Aoelian – of the wind
I’m in a show that opens Friday November 25, the day after Thanksgiving, from 7 – 10 PM at Arts 5th Ave. Cast aside the usual Black Friday Shopping Madness (except for art shopping) and join us! Arts 5th Ave is a cozy fun environment nestled snugly in the heart of Historic Fairmount in Mid-South Fort Worth. This will be fairly different than the show that just…
B/W&C show – update with images
The B/W&C show has come to a close and we’ve pulled the pieces from Gallery 414. It was a great success. We had close to 200 people (at best count) to the opening on October 22, and a respectable stream of visitors on the following weekends. Many thanks to Leo Wesson and Kipp Baker for agreeing to participate with me in this endeavor, and especially…
